If you have watched the recent news reports on deck failures you know the dangers of aging and poorly constructed decks. Outdoor decks are exposed to the elements and must be inspected regularly. Our deck safety inspection service will provide you with a report on the condition of your deck including identification of any items that require repair.

“Pfund Construction saved our family from a potentially dangerous accident. They used their knowledge of deck safety to stabilize and reinforce our deck/sunroom. Pfund Construction is great company to work with. They have excellent work ethic and great customer service. We wouldn't hesitate in using them again for any of our construction needs.”

| What to watch for |
| Decks, porches and balconies may collapse if they are not properly constructed or if they are old. Common hazards are decks attached to
buildings with nails, which work loose over time. Decks should be attached
using proper anchors or bolts. Other safety hazards to watch for: |
- Split or rotting wood
- Wobbly handrails or guardrails
- Loose, missing or rusting anchors, nails or screws
- Missing, damaged or loose support beams and planking
|
- Poor end support of the porch deck, joists or girders
- Excessive movement of the porch when walked on
